Lisa Kuczmarski

Lisa hails from Wisconsin where she attended UW-Madison, UW-Stevens Point to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

During this time, Lisa raised her three children and helped operate a 1,200-acre potato farm. Lisa also gained valuable work experience holding key administrative positions for the City of Rhinelander, UWSP-Treehaven Natural Resources, Teaching, Recreation and Research Station, and a US Army, CPO-NAF unit giving her a unique understanding of how business, tourism, and communications are assisted and regulated by local, state and federal governmental entities. In the private sector, Lisa has extensive Chamber of Commerce, non-profit, and event-planning experience as well as being a freelance writer, editor, and radio show host for several years.

Once an empty-nester, Lisa decided to seek adventure outside of Wisconsin.  Her passion for fly fishing and living an outdoor life brought her to Montrose, CO where she has enjoyed working for the City of Montrose in the Human Resources Department and as the city’s safety coordinator.

Lisa recently completed her Master of Public Administration degree when the opportunity to apply for the city’s director of business and tourism presented itself. Since January 2021, Lisa has embraced her new role and is very excited to continue to put her business knowledge and work ethic to good use for the community. True to the city’s motto “Stay here and play everywhere” Lisa fully enjoys backpacking, camping, hiking, Jeeping, skiing, and fishing year-round with her partner Mike Bergen and rescue dog Retter.
