Scott is a registered professional engineer specializing in municipal infrastructure design, geotechnical analyses and design, and construction project management. Scott holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University. Before coming to the City of Montrose in 2013, he worked as a consulting project engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah.
As city engineer, Scott is responsible for managing the design, construction, and inspection of the city’s large-scale capital projects as well as plan review and inspection of infrastructure-related elements associated with subdivisions and site developments for the City of Montrose.
Scott’s wife, Whitney, is an elementary school teacher for the Montrose County School District. Scott and Whitney came to Montrose for the same reason everyone comes to Montrose: a fantastic quality of life and sense of community that cannot be found anywhere else. To that end, Scott and Whitney enjoy all things Montrose: quality time with family, local sports, fishing, hiking, camping, and exploring area mountains and deserts.
