A sewer tap fee is charged for the inspection, testing, and administrative costs associated with a connection to the city’s sanitary sewer system. In addition, a capacity fee is charged to recover the cost of the connection’s proportionate share of the infrastructure capacity, and to fund capital improvements related to growth. Sewer tap and capacity fees are specified in Section 3-5-12(G) of the City of Montrose Municipal Code. Other city fees are detailed in Chapter 3-1 of the City Regulations Manual.
