[ARCHIVED] Major Sewer Line Project Underway

The City of Montrose began a major sanitary sewer replacement project on Monday, July 7th at the intersection of North Seventh and Uncompahgre Avenue.

Utility workers from Mendez Contractors will be working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the contstruction zone. Residents are advised that traffic control and vehicle lane closures will impact travel for two city blocks at a time as construction progresses.

The project will travel south and east along the existing sewer line and will end at the intersection of Mesa Avenue and South Twelfth Street. The project is expected to end by November 15, 2008.

This construction will replace existing 8”, 10”, and 12” sanitary sewer lines with larger 18” and 24” line. The new line will improve the existing sanitary sewer collection system while providing additional capacity for future development within Montrose.
