Contractors working for the City of Montrose began work on this year's surface treatment project this past Monday. The treatment process will continue with the application of slurry seals planned to begin Thursday, June 29, and continue through the middle of July. Please find the tentative slurry seal schedule, pending any delays or weather interruptions, on the map shown below.
The slurry seal curing period typically takes four to five hours. During this period cars will not be permitted to drive on the freshly placed slurry. Residential roads will be closed during this period to all traffic. Minor arterials such as Oak Grove, 6700 Rd, Venture Way, and Alpine Drive will remain open to one-lane traffic and controlled through the use of flaggers or pilot cars through the curing period.
Contractors will begin work each day at 7 a.m. If your road is scheduled to be slurry sealed and has "No Parking" signs along the road, please be prepared for the road to be closed until the slurry has been cured.
Should you need to leave your home after 7 a.m., please prepare for the closure and relocate your vehicle to a street that does not have "No Parking" signs prior to the start of the slurry seal process.
Trash and recycling collection schedules will remain unchanged throughout the project. If your trash or recycling is scheduled to be collected on the same day as the surface treatment project, please assure your can out no later than 6 a.m. as these areas will be collected first for the day.
