The city’s street maintenance plans for 2021 are rolling forward with $1 million of street maintenance projects in the works for the upcoming season.
A total of 12.7 miles of streets are slated for slurry seal, an area equivalent to 21.5 football fields. Sealing protects against deterioration that can lead to more costly repairs in the future. An additional 38.1 lane miles are slated for crack sealing and patching.
Routine street maintenance activities such as crack sealing, patching, and pothole repairs are performed by the city’s Streets Division and larger projects are managed by the Engineering Department.
