The project is moving along nicely, and I would like to thank everyone for their patience as we progress through the different elements of the project. The contractor (Haynes Excavation) has been working on repairing failed sections of the mainline with the goal of repairing major defects ahead of sewer lining. All spot repairs have been completed that are not associated with a basin or manhole insertion. After completing the spot repairs, Haynes began inserting basins on dead-end main lines. They have completed approximately half of these insertions.
Specialty equipment has arrived to complete the mainline replacement portion of the project. Two sections of the mainline are scheduled to be completely replaced and upsized. The first includes the mainline running through the greenbelt between Cottonwood Drive and Crestview Drive. The second will be the mainline running along Pioneer Rd from Cottonwood Drive to the manhole between Juniper Ct and Crestview Drive. In order to complete this phase of the project a larger work area is necessary for the specialty equipment and will require road closures. See below for the anticipated schedule.
Anticipated Work Schedule and Road Closures
- Monday 11/30 through Tuesday 12/1: Greenbelt mainline replacement. This will require a road closure of Cottonwood Drive adjacent to the Greenbelt, and Crestview Drive adjacent to the greenbelt. Residents will need to access from the north or south depending on which side of the greenbelt they are located.
- Wednesday 12/2 through Friday 12/4: Pioneer Road replacement. This will require a road closure of Cottonwood Drive at Pioneer Road. All Cottonwood traffic will be directed to the south.
