Montrose, CO — INFOCU5 is pleased to announce its expansion into Montrose with plans to create over 171 net new permanent full-time jobs across the towns, cities, and rural communities located on the Western Slope of Colorado. The expansion is part of the company’s goal to create over 403 jobs over the course of the next three years.
The software company received the state’s first Location Neutral Employee Incentive (LONE) for the western slope from Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT). The incentive provides companies with a Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit and additional cash incentive for each remote worker employed in an eligible rural county of the state.
INFOCU5 is eager to take this unique opportunity to strengthen the ties among the surrounding communities which are deeply connected to the company’s HUB cities of Telluride, Grand Junction, and Montrose. Additionally, the company strives to close the existing socioeconomic gaps across the Western Slope by bringing higher paying job opportunities to the region.
“The Western Slope of Colorado is uniquely tied together in a way that I haven’t experienced anywhere else in the country,” said Jake Bush, company CEO. “Telluride, Montrose, and Grand Junction are all key players in one larger and greater economic ecosystem collectively working together for the greater good of the entire region. You truly could not have one without the other, and we see immense value in bringing that connection even closer together.”
Headquartered in Telluride, INFOCU5 wants to create up to 403 net new jobs over a 3-year period with an average annual salary of $62,295.29, nearly 55-percent higher than Montrose County’s median annual salary of $39,700.
“The Location Neutral Employee Incentive is an important tool to expand quality job opportunities beyond Colorado’s urban centers and directly into our rural communities that seek greater workforce participation,” said Michelle Hadwiger, director of Global Business
Development at OEDIT. “It’s gratifying to see a Colorado company leverage a remote work model to make high quality jobs truly accessible to all Coloradans.”
INFOCU5 plans to move its California-based employees from Pasadena to Grand Junction, including other rural-based Colorado communities such as Montrose. The company is seeking to fill immediate positions with a diverse group of employees for a variety of roles.
"This news gives us even further validation that our investment in broadband was a wise one," said City of MontrtoseDirector of Business Innovation Tourism Chelsea Rosty. "Further, we predict a workforce shift toward remote work in our area, and we are thrilled that INFOCU5 will lead the way."
Montrose Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Executive Director Sandy Head was very pleased with the news. “Montrose is a prime location for INFOCU5 due to the efforts over past years to build out the 1gigabyte internet service. We are known to have the best internet service on the Western Slope. The LONE Incentive program has served as a stimulus for INFOCU5 to invest in our community as well as other communities across the Western Slope. This is a win-win for all of us.”
INFOCU5 plans to host job fairs along the Western Slope in the coming months for its location-neutral positions, the first of which will occur on July 9, 2020, at the Mesa County Workforce Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, from 10 am to 2 pm.
