Ballot_001

Montrose, CO — The April 7 municipal election to decide three seats on the City Council will proceed as scheduled, according to Montrose City Clerk Lisa DelPiccolo.

Ballots were mailed to all registered voters within the city limits on Monday, March 16. Voters are encouraged to return ballots by mail or to the curbside ballot box outside the former Montrose County courthouse building at 320 South First Street.

Ballots must be received, not postmarked, by 7 p.m. on April 7. According to Colorado state statute, ballots cannot be accepted by email or fax.

Each voter can cast one vote for each position or question on the ballot regardless of which district the voter resides. Information on each of the 11 candidates and the Black Hills Colorado Gas, Inc. franchise question is available on the city website, CityOfMontrose.org/Election, along with a sample ballot.

Updates will be posted regularly on the election page on the city website. Follow the City of Montrose on social media for additional updates.

Any voter who does not receive a ballot, or needs a replacement ballot should contact the city clerk at 970.240.1422 or cityclerk@cityofmontrose.org to make arrangements to pick up their ballot at the Montrose Visitor Center’s customer service area at 107 South Cascade. Voters must present their ID to receive a ballot. City Hall is currently closed to public access due to COVID-19 precautions.

The unofficial election results will be posted on the city website as close to 8 p.m. as possible on Election Day, April 7.
