Montrose, CO — The City of Montrose is pleased to announce that the Miami-Hillcrest Roundabout Construction Project has reached a significant milestone: completion of all below-ground utilities.
This utility work included the under-grounding of existing overhead power and communication lines, new power and communication lines, relocation of fiber optic lines, irrigation piping replacements, storm drain piping, a waterline replacement, and the installation of a new pressure control vault on the water system.
With all of the utility work completed, construction will now focus on starting to pour all of the project’s concrete curbing and center island areas to make the area begin to look like a roundabout intersection.
The project is trending on budget and is on schedule for a mid-September reopening of the intersection.
A live video webcam has been set up overlooking the project on the city’s project website at www.MoveMo.co, under the current capital projects tab.
The city would like to thank residents for their continued patience throughout this project. Anyone with questions may direct them to Ryan Cushenan at 970.240.1485.
