Waterline construction ahead of the planned mill and overlay of Hillcrest Drive hits a major milestone with the completion of the Fairview Place connection. Prior to replacing the waterline under Hillcrest Drive between Sunnyside Road and Miami Road, a secondary loop was necessary along Fairview Place to provide water service to residents along Ridge and Highland Street throughout construction. The Fairview Place loop will add system reliability and will ease future maintenance needs. With this connection complete, contractors working for the City have begun working on waterline valve insertions ahead of mainline construction along Hillcrest Drive today. Today's work included the insertion of valves at Ridge and Highland Street.
Waterline work will continue at each of the remaining intersecting cross streets throughout the week including; South 11th Street, South 12th Street, and Birch Street. Customers along the intersecting streets can anticipate daytime water service outages.
