Montrose, CO – The City of Montrose is accepting applications from citizens interested in serving on the city’s Historic Preservation Commission. Currently, vacancies exist for seven commissioners with terms expiring at varying dates.
The newly forming Historic Preservation Commission will work with property owners in evaluating matters related to historic property maintenance and revitalization. The commission will also conduct surveys and create inventories of historic sites, properties, and areas for the purpose of defining those of historic significance among other duties. Members of the Historic Preservation Commission serve at the pleasure of the City Council and are appointed for three-year overlapping terms. Meeting time and dates have not yet been established.
Applications are available at City Hall, 433 S. First Street, on the City of Montrose website at www.cityofmontrose.org/history, or by calling 970.240.1422. Applications and letters of interest must be submitted to the City Clerk by 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
