In addition to offering an epic outdoor lifestyle, low cost of living, and 1GB internet, the City of Montrose and its community partners offer a selection of incentives and services to foster business development. Incentives are available for a variety of business sizes and types with programs tailored and scaled to the unique needs of each business.
Following is a menu of incentives and basic requirements that accompany them.
Revolving Loan Funds of up to $20,000 are available to assist businesses with building and property improvements. The program is divided into two segments; the Downtown Opportunity Fund, available to businesses located within the downtown business district, and the Montrose Opportunity Fund for other entities within the city limits. Incentives of up to $5,000 per job are provided to businesses creating new full-time jobs at or above the median salary for Montrose County. Businesses must maintain new jobs for at least 12 months before incentives are provided.
The city will provide funding and in-kind assistance for making external improvements to an overall business property to improve its “curb appeal”. Improvements could include sidewalks, landscaping, signage, blight removal, and other enhancements appropriate to the needs of the business.
