Special Events Permit

Entities interested in displaying signage for special events must first acquire a Special Events Permit.  Special Events Permits are issued for events 96 hours long or less.

Each entity is allowed 12 Special Events Permits per calendar year.  Balloons must be smaller than a 3x3x3 cube and cannot be flown higher that the maximum height of a freestanding sign allowed in that particular zoning district.

Type of signage allowed under Special Events Permit is limited to:
  • Balloons
  • Streamers
  • Pennants
  • Flags
  • Human-held and human-powered signs
  • Costumed performers
All other animated signs not listed above are not allowed.
