Rex was born in Western Nebraska and lived in Scottsbluff and Kearney, Nebraska, where he managed radio and TV stations for over 20 years. He was elected to the city council in Sidney, Nebraska, and served on numerous boards and committees, including being chairman of an A95 Review committee that reviewed and approved funding for all local, state and federal grant applications that affected the Panhandle of Nebraska. He was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association.
He and his wife Denise moved to Montrose 17 years ago and worked for a local funeral home for ten years. For the past ten years he has been building his AFLAC insurance business and will retire at the end of 2014.

Volunteered for the Chamber Redcoats, and was elected President twice
Served on the Hospice fundraising committee for ten years
Volunteered and was elected President of the Board for Dream Catcher Therapy Center

Volunteered with the Montrose Memorial Hospital Foundation Board
President of the San Juan Coloradans for Nebraska alumni chapter

Rex has five children, 17 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He enjoys playing golf and cards and likes to travel.
Rex and Denise have been very pleased with all that Montrose has to offer and all that it has given to them. Rex looks forward to giving back to the community with his background and knowledge of business, city government, and politics.
